Save the Children is a rights based, advocacy, emergency and development assistance organization which has been working in Sri Lanka since 1974. Our work is based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child   which was first delcared by our founder Madam Eglantyne Jebb.  In Sri Lanka  our work focuses on four themes; Education, Child Protection, Child Rights Governance and Newborn and Child Survival.

Save the Children is committed  towards promoting and protecting the rights of children across Sri Lanka.  We have carried out community based projects, School based projects and have worked with many duty bearers including government stakeholders, civil societies and the non government communities to partake in fulfilling and or to contribute towards recognizing and respecting the rights of children.

It is our belief that every individual, child or adult has a role to play in the wellbeing of each other. Thereby, inherently we have responsibilities one to another in ensuring that life on earth is fruitful and that we develop through the stages of  life, realizing or achieving our potentials of being a positive citizen.
